The Leon County Republican Executive Committee has laid a framework for expanding its base and influence within Leon County. In partnership with our Core Principles, we have outlined our mission statement in terms of local victory.

Primary Goals vs. Ongoing Process

Winning elections is the primary goal of the Republican Party. Electing good leaders is an on-going process. If we do not win elections we never get a chance to prove that our Conservative philosophy of government works. The Leon County Republican Party urges you to get involved in a variety of ways:

Register to Vote! Make sure that all like-minded people within your circle of influence are also registered to vote and are either attending or involved in the election process.

Attend a meeting of the local Leon County Republican Executive Committee, held every 2ndThursday at the Hotel Duval. (INSERT LINK)

Join a local Republican Club. A great listing is here.

Volunteer for a campaign.

Offer to host or help with a fundraiser for the Local GOP.

Join the Council of 100.

Our Party is only as good as the volunteers and supporters who pitch in to help promote and advance the Republican Party. Whether your interest is social or you simply wish to pitch in and work for the cause the Leon County Republican Party has an organization for you.

Important information about your LCREC

What is the Leon County Republican Executive Committee?

The Leon County Republican Executive Committee is the duly registered and chartered Republican Party Authority in Leon County provided for by state statute. The Executive Committee is comprised of elected officials and duly appointed Precinct Leaders. Thus, the Executive Committee, as the decision making body of the Republican Party in Leon County, has representation in each of Leon County’s 178 precincts. There is one committeeman and one committeewoman from each precinct. When precincts have a total voter population over 1000, that precinct is allowed an additional committeeman and committeewoman for each additional 1000 voters. This Committee is the sole official voice of the Republican Party in Leon County, and is directly responsive to the Republican Party of Florida organization.

What are the duties of a Precinct Committeeman/woman?

Your job as a Republican precinct leader is an extremely important one. In many respects, you are the Republican Party within your neighborhood. You represent Republican voters in your precinct. You play a pivotal role in selecting and electing Republican candidates for a wide variety of responsible positions, ranging from United States Congress to city council to school board. You are the first and, in many ways, the most important link in the chain which makes up our representative form of government.

Here are the main responsibilities of the precinct leader:

Serve as the Republican Party’s year-round liaison in your precinct.

Organize your precinct by blocks, streets, and/or neighborhoods.

Recruit and train volunteers.

Distribute literature and information on Republicans candidates, election procedures, and election laws.

Organize precinct meetings, events, and rallies.

Identify and register Republicans to vote, and organize campaigns to switch other voters to the Republican Party.

Identify all favorable voters.

Help implement all phases and components of the Republican Party campaign plan.

And, most importantly,

Get all Republicans and other favorable voters to the polls on Election Day!

How do I become an official Precinct Committeeman/woman?

Download the forms here: http://rpof.org/wp-content/uploads/PCMPCW-PACKET-2012.pdf

Ignore the first page.

Fill out each form.

Have the “Candidate Oath” notarized.

Bring the forms to our next meeting.

After we receive the forms we will verify that the precinct where you live has an opening, and verify that you are a registered Republican in your precinct. The following meeting we will vote you on to the committee.
