What is the Leon County Republican Executive Committee?
The Leon County Republican Executive Committee is the duly registered and chartered Republican Party Authority in Leon County provided for by state statute.  The Executive Committee is comprised of elected officials and duly appointed Precinct Leaders.  Thus, the Executive Committee, as the decision making body of the Republican Party in Leon County, has representation in each of Leon County’s 178 precincts.  There is one committeeman and one committeewoman from each precinct.  When precincts have a total voter population over 1000, that precinct is allowed an additional committeeman and committeewoman for each additional 1000 voters.  This Committee is the sole official voice of the Republican Party in Leon County, and is directly responsive to the Republican Party of Florida organization.

What are the duties of a Precinct Committeeman/woman?
Your job as a Republican precinct leader is an extremely important one. In many respects, you are the Republican Party within your neighborhood. You represent Republican voters in your precinct. You play a pivotal role in selecting and electing Republican candidates for a wide variety of responsible positions, ranging from United States Congress to city council to school board. You are the first and, in many ways, the most important link in the chain which makes up our representative form of government.

Here are the main responsibilities of the precinct leader:
·
Serve as the Republican Party’s year-round liaison in your precinct.
·
Organize your precinct by blocks, streets, and/or neighborhoods.
·        Recruit and train volunteers.
·        Distribute literature and information on Republicans candidates, election procedures, and election laws.
·        Organize precinct meetings, events, and rallies.
·        Identify and register Republicans to vote, and organize campaigns to switch other voters to the Republican Party.
·        Identify all favorable voters.
·        Help implement all phases and components of the Republican Party campaign plan.

And, most importantly,
·        Get all Republicans and other favorable voters to the polls on Election Day!
